Thankful

I am back for my second posting make-up. Hmm thankful...at this moment I am grumpy as piss so this is a hard question. I guess since it is so damn freakin cold out, I am thankful for the roof over my head and the heat and blankets in my house. Though I may have to sleep on the living room every night I am still thankful that I am not homeless. I have been there and done that for 7 years. I hope to never have to be cold like that again. Sorry, I keep yawning....maybe I am so warm that I am tired.

Thankfull for:

Please forgive me for missing a day. I have been very ill. I will make two postings today to make up for it. This morning I am thankful for making it to work safely. The roads are very icy this morning and it is crazy cold out. Today was the first day this year I had to scrape my windows!! As I was driving up the hill on Washington over by the hospitals (thank God!!) this Red Demon SUV starts speeding next to me and then completely spins out ....I mean in a full circle!! As I bravely drive past  the now slow moving car, I mouth to the insane woman, "are you ok" and she glares at me and flips me the bird. How nice!! I am just thankful that my bald tires gently glided me up the icy hill and got me to work safely. I am also thankful that the crazy bird flippin' woman is safe. I mean Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I am sure family would miss her. Tell me, what are you thankful for? I am so sad that I ask this question knowing nobody else reads this...sigh. Maybe someone someday will find the desire to read my thoughts. Hmm time will tell.

More of what I am thankful for

Today I am very thankful for my most wonderful man. I was sent home sick today and he has taken very good care of me. I am thankful that I can depend on him to help out when I am ill. We may have our differences but when it comes right down to it, we love eachother very very much. Thank you for being there when I need you.

Day two of Thankfulness

Today I am thankful for my son, Sequoia. He is such a goof but so full of love. Today when I sent him to grab a diaper for me to change him, he brings me one and points to the picture on it. It was of cookie monster. I said to him, "MMm Cookie Monster". He was so cute, he responded by taking his two hands and pretending to eat cookies and said "num num" and growld at me. It was so sweet. I did not even know he understood who cookie monster was and what he was known for. Shows me just how smart he is. I love my son very much adn am thankful he is in my life. What about you, what are you thankful for?

Ten Days of What I am Thankful For

I have decided to remind myself of what I have that is good in hopes of it detering my depression that I feel slowly creeping in. So each day until the day after Thanksgiving I am going to express one thing I am thankful for. Today I am thankful for my loving daughter, Lily. This morning she saw that I was having a bad start to my day. So what does she do? She comes up to me with her brand new knee high rainbowish striped socks and offers to let me wear them. A little scoop about why this is important: she knows that my favorite thing to wear is tacky knee highs. I know that it is a big deal for her to share something new that her "grandma" got her. I looked at her and hugged her and told her I loved her and tried to tell her no thank you and encourage her to wear them herself. She insisted that Iwear them "so I can have a better day". This is why I am thankful for my daughter. She saw my grumpiness and she chose to go the extra mile and make my day all the more better. Now as I head off to work I will walk with pride and love in each step as I wear my daughters new cool socks! What are you thankful for today?

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?
My wish is that we learn that Christmas is about family togetherness and not so much about the gifts.
2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?
We bake orange rolls& open stockings first.
3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?
It would have to be all new kitchen utensils, dishes, and cookware.
4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?
We make our gifts and cards. We look back at the year and what we accomplished. Not to mention watch the Holiday TV specials.

Me Out Loud

About me: I am 32 but act in my 20's...guess I look it to. I have two great kids, Lily (10) and Sequoia (2). I am engaged to a great man....a stay-at-home dad-type. I aspire to be a therapist who works to keep families together. Where I am at in this goal is that I am attempting to get into grad school. I have overcome the great hurdle of earning my BA...only took me 12 years. Having kids can do that. Have I mentioned that I am obsessed with Hello Kitty? Tattoo and all.
